Welcome to Nära Charlbury Nursery

Nurture. Nourish. Cherish.

We are a full day care nursery offering childcare and unique early years education for children aged 0-5 years. Our nursery, located next to the train station in Charlbury, Chipping Norton, is open from 8:00am – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, all year round, offering full time or flexible daycare. Whether you are looking for childcare for your baby, toddler or preschool aged child, we will ensure their days are filled with as much fun, exploration, challenge and learning as humanly possible.

At Nära Charlbury, we believe early years education should do more than help children meet milestones. Our approach is to nourish the hearts, hands and minds of our children; nurture curiosity, awe and wonder, and cherish each child’s early years as the unique and special time it is. We believe this builds the foundation for future success, wellbeing and lifelong learning.

To deliver on our commitment to exceptional childcare and early years education, we’ve created Nära Enrichments: a bespoke programme of extra-curricular activities and extraordinary experiences, designed to go beyond the Early Years Foundation Stage and bring learning to life.

What Makes Us Different

At Nära Charlbury, every moment is shaped with purpose, care, and creativity. We see each child as an individual who is curious, capable, and full of potential. From our cosy Baby Room, to our inviting Toddler Room and exciting Pre-School, our home-from-home environments create a sense of belonging, while our experienced educators guide learning with warmth and intention. By blending play, exploration, and emotional development, we help children flourish, building confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

We advocate a whole nursery approach to health and well-being. Our menus are designed and approved in conjunction with a paediatric nutritionist and are all freshly prepared at nursery. We also plan cookery and food tasting activities which teach children about ingredients, the seasons and where food comes from, including food from different cultures.

We work in partnership with parents and offer regular parents’ evenings, and home learning support as well as workshops and events. Our Nära Cherish Community events offer children and families an opportunity to get to know each other and enjoy special activities at weekends.

Our convenient location, onsite parking, Parent App and newsfeed, all inclusive fees and friendly and committed team are just some of the reasons so many parents choose and recommend our nursery.

Teaching and Learning

We use the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the Birth to 5 Matters Non-statutory guidance for the EYFS, as the foundation for our developmentally appropriate curriculum and inspiring pedagogical practice.

Curriculum Enrichments

In order to give our children access to the broadest possible experiences during their time with us, we have designed a bespoke set of “extra-curricular” activities which are known as Nära Enrichments. These Enrichments are designed to enhance children’s opportunities for learning and development.

Information for Parents

Working in partnership with our parents is crucial to us because we know that a close relationship between nursery and home leads to the best outcomes for children.
